Kryptview firmware on windows 8

hi I am new here will the krypview softwear work on windows 8 :anyonethere:

no idea as most like us have vintage xp and a serial port/rs232 on a pc and just use a ted luxston special known as " null modem cable",you can be the guinea pig lol.

Works fine on win7 so see no reason why it won't work. I will stick win8 on my laptop that I have specifically for flashing as it has serial port that's what I used to test win7 and the kv downloader.

Its actually an OLD IBM thinkpad nice compact size as well. Battery lasts about 30 secs and it takes an hour to start up but once running does the job well. was great when i had to go literally around the house reflashing eurovox's and the likes glad those days are gone.

i installed win8 on it last night will check the progress of that later today and see if KV downloader launches etc on it.

I can confirm that Kryptview_arnet_loader which can be found in download section works fine on windows 8 with the Kryptview_a780_12042012.bin file also found under downloads section to flash a KV a780 via null modem cable.

i reckon i would get longer from a duracell than the battery currently in it but hey its still working win98/winXP/win7 and now also litterally just confirmed win8.

think its time to go back to winXP now though the speed is killing me.LOL
