Like the title says im buying iver a kryptview or am going to get a spider box and a motorised dish this week. I would prefere to buy the kryptview it saves all the messing around and the expense but a dont want to buy a kryptview and it go off next week, can any one help me decide thanks.

I agree with wheelo, ufortunately its one of them pay your money and take your chances as far as cable goes at present bucka. everyone has different circumstances. And no one can tell you if they will last another week or another year. My personal opinion is that we have seen the best of cable, and their days are numbered, but that is not an informed decision. But then it depends on how much the possibility of loosing £140 or so for a Kryptview effects you if the worse comes to the worse, if you can just put it down to experience and not cry about the money, then as you say, it is the easier option and may be worth a gamble. I certainly would not consider a Starview, not at present anyway.
I am not too clued up on the Sat side of things as yet, but if you are prepared to do the research and learn the ins and outs, then it may be the better option, again everyone is different. If I was starting afresh (I have a Kryptview) I may well be tempted to go Sat way after recent issues with both Kryptview and Starview. I do not feel qualified to comment on which sat box is the best, but there are plenty of threads on this site to help you decide (both cable and sat), and you and I will get all the help we need here should we go down that road.

Personally having had a starview 7, Kryptview and now a Blade media which uses sat, I dont know why I ever wasted my money on the SV and KV.
Blade is very easy to set up and mine personally is 95% of the time glitch free. The blade also costs the same as a KV but the blade is a HD STB, the picture is perfect.
KV dont come close to the quality of the BM imo.

Depends on what sub you get and where you point the dish, if you have a normal sky dish it will be pointing at 28.2E which will give you all the normal Sky channels.
There's a good list here that will give you some examples and show which channels are where.

And involve paying someone a small monthly fee? I used to always use cable but wondering about Satelite now - that Blade Media box looks pretty impressive! What's a motorised dish as well?

dont now much about the satellite side of things im just gettin in to it my self. and yes everythings cable share now you dont have to pay on the cable side but you do on sat side a motorised dish is a sat with a motor the motor moves the dish to different sats im a noob my self so if im wrong a hope some one can correct me.
I`ll second hiteck I bought a blade 7000s over a month ago after being with NTL/Virgin for over 5 years of getting free telly/Movies/Porn untill Nagra 3 came now I would never go back this Blade is Awsome ! I have a 500 gb hard drive hooked upto it with all my kids films on in Divx,Mkv,And Avi format which it plays at the touch of a button, It can record 2 channles while watching a 3rd. Is also a MP3 player so if you have a good surround sound system you can put all your albums on that USB hard drive too. I am that impressed Im going to buy one for my bedroom. Trust me even if card shareing came to a end this box would still be worth its money. I give it 11 out of ten. Oh and its 3d ready. I get sly 3d but need to upgrade my telly next to catch up with this blade. Furture Proof for sure..

Hi I get every channle possible with my dish pointing where sly set it up 28.2e.
I get all the extra pay channles all HD channles and porn . I get about 900 channles but about 350 of them are junk that you would never watch like QVC which has about 7 channles now on sly.
Cost me £10 a month with no freeze or glitch. Best move I ever made . :)
