Just bought this receiver and have intermitent power supply to box sometimes when i plug in get no power then i try another socket working then back to socket that wasnt working and it works power sockets are fine as tested with other appliances. Is this a faulty box as I cannot also load firmware to it. (download not requested messsage) I have tried serial com port with cable, usb to serial and also bought a pcma card with serial port but still no joy.

I have spent alot of money and getting very frustrated with it!! do youthink it could just be a faulty box?
 
Open the box up and you will probably find the ribbon cable from power supply board coming out. just clip it back in. They move about in transit.. You need a null modem cable.. Lin cast nick nacks.. 2 quid..3.75 inc postage and get an old computer with a 9 ports and it takes 2 minutes.. oh and make sure you have the correct bin file.. You can go to "stickys" on kryptview main page and the boys will look after you..! I have experienced it first hand..trust me..!

If I open box up wont that invalidate warranty?

I am picking up an old computer from a local computer guy who sellsthem with xp for £30 Ill give it go tommorow and hopefully no more pulling my hair out!!!
 
From what you say the box is faulty send it back.
Updating firmware invalidates warranty so FTA firmware will have to be reinstalled.
Power problems will not be solved by undating firmware.
Check what firmware is on the box [Menu-System Info] if its Nov 2011 or this year there is no need to update via PC the box will work.
 
I wouldnt bother trying to flash it, sound like a faulty box
get it swapped and post back if you get stuck flashing
the replacement.:)

It turns out it was already flashed had it working yesterday but now only FTA channels working.
internet is working ok box is connected directly to my Super hub with ethernet cable. any ideas?
