Slim Lite-On 0225 0401
LT+v2.0
IN TESTING
There is no problem with 0225 firmware. The problem is that the write protect on the drive is enabled and it is currently impossible to write the hacked fw to the original chip on the drive (the same applies to the 0401).
The team, however, has developed a special conversion process (hardware add-on) which allows fw to be written to 0225 and 0401 drives. This is in the form of a cheap, solderable kit for pro modders, and a more expensive no-solder do-it-yourself product for end-users.
Another viable alternative is to write the 0225/0401 fw to a 9504 drive, as the hardware (Lite-On DG-16D4S) is identical. This was the method originally used to test the 0225 fw, prior to development of the conversion process.
