Celtic are on the brink of landing a £5.5 million swoop for AEK Athens goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas.

Parkhead chiefs are close to sealing their deal after further negotiations with the Greek giants.

A fee of £4.5 million and a figure in the region of £1 million in add-ons has been deemed acceptable by the selling club and a transfer could be completed as soon as today Tuesday.

Keeper Vasilios Barkas has arrived in Glasgow to complete his £5.5million switch to Celtic.

The Greek international is ready to sign a four-year contract with the Scottish champions after a deal was agreed with AEK Athens.


Barkas is set to have a medical with a transfer close to announcement.

AH well I see what you meant now on the other thread Bennie, hopefully he turns out to be a good keeper , anyones better than Bain, I would even rather have young Hazard ahead of him.
