Paul McCloskey will begin his comeback from a controversial defeat in his last fight against Amir Khan by clashing with Colombian Breidis Precott at the Odyssey Arena.
The Dungiven light-welterweight went toe to toe with Khan in a world title bout in Manchester in April but the fight ended in disappointment when he was controversially stopped in the sixth round after a clash of heads caused a cut.
The Khan loss is the sole blemish on McCloskey's 23 fight record and the 31-year-old gets the perfect opponent to avenge that defeat against Prescott, the only man to beat Khan so far in his professional career.
28-year-old South American Prescott stunned Khan back in September 2008, knocking him out inside a minute of the opening round at the MEN Arena to wrestle the WBO Inter-Continental title from his grip.
The McCloskey v Prescott fight will be an official eliminator for the WBA belt and is set to take place at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday 10 September.
