Miraclebox Premium Micro Not Scanning For Channels

Nucleus

Newbie
Can anybody give any pointers as to what may be wrong here plz?

At different homes, two of us have Miraclebox Mini+ Hybrid boxes. We also have a Miraclebox Premium Micro – which suddenly won’t scan for channels. Have factory reset it a couple of times and followed our setup instructions to the letter, in the past we have successfully clean setup the Mini Hybrid’s.

Just cannot get the Premium Micro to scan for channels now!? If I swap the leads into Mini+ Hybrid all is fine.

newcamd.lst and mg_cfg are present in usr\keys. In the Softcam Manager mgcamd.1.38 is installed and started.

I think this is the setup log if it helps tracking what may be wrong? Also a screenshot of the About dialog below.

Do you get the cable fta channels? (1-5 SD versions)

Yes, BBC1 BBC2 ITV Ch4 Ch5 - All SD and HD.

i'm real sorry but I rebooted the box and now everything is working and scanning is now finding channels. Sorry.

After setting up the Slyk Q skin, will I be able to create an image onto an 8Gb USB stick?

Does anyone have a link with setting up the Slyk Q skin plz, menu spacings etc?

The remote for the Miraclebox Premium Micro doesn't seem as responsive as the Mini+ Hybrid remotes, seems a slight delay when scrolling etc, is that normal?

Edit: All sorted and backed up. Thanks to those who contributed.

Following on from yesterday (see above). After setting it up, configuring the skin, and making a backup, I had it running at my place for something like 6-7 hours, occasionally switching channels, looking at EPG etc – perfect, no problems. Took it to my sons place last night, connected up – nothing, no channels, checked and double checked all leads, cable lead, Ethernet lead etc – nothing, no channels, neither does scanning for channels find any!

I assume this has to be a signal problem, too weak, too strong? From the incoming cable point there's a short lead to a splitter, one lead off that to Supehub and another lead off it to the Miraclebox Premium Micro box, and Ethernet from Superhub to the box. Inetrnet works fine.

Can anybody point me to how I can go about checking the signal, is it too weak, too strong, can I see that in the boxes menus somewhere? Or any other pointers how we might go about rectifying this plz. TIA.

Does your son live in the same area?
The net ID may need changing or the VM feed could be dead. If there was any sort of signal you would have found something

Lives very close yes. NetID 41011 - No idea which other one I would/should try?

On my box I just changed NetID from the usual 41011 to 41022 (TDN Trial), scanned and found a bunch of Transponders, then scanned for channels and found 589 channels.

I assume this is obviously the next thing to try on the Miraclebox Premium Micro?

This is becoming really frustrating!!! Any advice at all on what I need to do plz?

Been to my sons place tonight, took my Miraclebox Mini+ Hybrid, connected up - nothing, changed NetID as mentioned above and scanned - "Autoboquets Maker (Tuning Failed Fatal)". Again checked and double checked all cabling, also changed the splitter and rebooted everything - still nothing.

Looked at the Signal Finder (screenshot below) - there's no signal is there? Internet coming through the same cable is fine? It was working (albeit juddery) until a couple of nights ago when we tried to resolve the freezing and glitching by changing the cable from the splitter to the Miraclebox Premium Micro, since when - all of the problems mentioned in the previous posts above!

Can anyone please advise what we need to do/try next?

There's several net id's for the Birmingham / West Mids area - try and get the correct one... do you not have an old TiVo box you could get it from or his next door neighbour maybe?

I saw that earlier on this page:
Code:
http://ipab.tv/virgin-netid-search/

But when in the setup menus (Provider) and you go through them only two show for Birmingham. 41011 and 41022 (TDN Trial)

Although that linked page (above) shows a few for Birmingahm I have no idea if you can/where you would enter it manually?

I don't think you can enter manually on ABM...

These are the NET ID's I can see for the Brum and surroundings...

Birmingham TW/C&W - 41011
Birmingham TDN Trial - 41022
Birmingham Trial BM01 - 40993
Birmingham Trian BM01 - 41008
Birmingham TDN - 41015
Walsall - 40974
Dudley - 40973
Wolverhampton - 40974
Wolverhampton - 40995

Yeah I've found a few for Birmingham and surrounding but if I can't enter them manually, I'm stuck what to do/try next!? Does anyone know, can you edit a config file or something to change the NetID?

Also I've been reading about open cables causing noise and problems, apparently they should be capped. At the brown box on the outside of his house he also has cables going upstairs that used to feed boxes. So I'm also going to disconnect those from the splitter outside leaving just the one coming into the main point where we put a splitter.

You'll need an F to F joiner in place of the splitter in the brown box outside.

Just got back from my sons place. From the splitter in the brown box outside, I disconnected the two spare cables that used to feed VM boxes upstairs some years ago. The noticeable change is that where there was no signal at all last night, it now continually bounces between 0% 69% and sometimes 88%, the Lock tick box also continually flashes ticked/unticked. Internet through the same cable is fine though it seems to take the Superhub 2 a long time to establish a connection. Screenshot below.

I logged into his Superhub 2 and I assume this is all the signal information?
