Mobile broadband problem connecting on laptop?

How`re ye lads and lasses!
A friend of mine has a problem with her dell laptop,she has no problem connecting wirelessly to her home network to her BB.
but when she uses her mobile usb dongle while out and about it won`t make a connection, i have suggested turning off the internal wireless to see if it was a compatibly issue,and now the mobile is saying it is connected and on-line as normal but she still can`t access the internet.
Any solutions gang??

Have you checked in Internet Properties connection tab as what is selected? I think I had to change something similar before. As far as I'm aware 'Dial whenever a network connection is not present' should be ticked not either of the other 2. As Mobile BB dongles are treated as Dial-up connections. Try that and let us know how you get on mate.
