If the box as an rs232 port it may be able to be reflashed using a pc. but you would have to sort erom software from the manufacturer.

Turn off the MX box. Insert SD Card with the firmware. Put the toothpick in to the AV slot to press the hidden button. While holding the button plug the power cable in. After 6 seconds release the button. You should see the Android sign followed by the flashing progress bar.
Don't remove the SD Card at this point.

done that already ,thats what broke it in first place i put wrong firmware on sd card ,now dead ,just wondering is there a way to fix it

I had a new one that arrived to me that way, the power function worked (Blue/red LED on front) but nothing else would, They sent me instructions and correct firmware, but nothing worked, in the end, I had to send it back. My advice is if it is new, tell them it arrived that way, and try for a replacement.

Just as a matter of interest, why change it's firmware??

Itried to change firmware to get rid of virus as i was told to do by many people ,but i did not know trying to flash with wrong firmware would cause box to go dead .i cannot enter new firmware till i find out is there someway to get box to start up ,it,s looking like a useless cause

Thanks

anytime something is flashed double check image is for that article in question, you wont be the first or last to have this issue m8.

The trouble is that there are so many variants of these devices on the market containing different componants, that it makes it difficult when trying to find the correct firmware.

Try the procedure below to try and identify wich main board your device is using

Remove the main board from the plastic housing ( remove the 4 rubber feet, underneath are 4 screws) and have a look and see what it says on there.

Check this image out for what I mean :

That board is a hd18 v2.xx

Find out what yours is and have a look for the corresponding firmware via Google.

The freaktab website is a very good place to find information
