Need help viewing remotely

Hi I have my Zgemma set up working reasonably well on my iPad via kodi, problem is It only works when I'm at home. I'd like to be able to view this from work because I work long shifts and I'm always missing the football. I've read somewhere you can access it but I can't seem to find a guide, can anybody help me out?

One option is if you get a raspberry pi 2/3/zero etc and Install openvpn server in it, once dialled into it remotely from work and it will act like your Connection is inside your house behind your firewall, ie all the same access as if you were sat on your sofa
