The various solid reliable 4k footie streams run at around 40-45mbps (there are some compressed and run at lower speed) so you are worrying unneccesarily about download speed / vpn loss.

Hardwire the firestick you might improve your speed.
Wi-fi will have more interference.

Wi-fi does get interference though doesn't it?
Hardwire eliminates interference in my experience that's why games consoles and PC gamers always hardwire.

Nowadays I would say not so much with mesh systems and we are talking about a firestick for streaming not a gaming machine

Correct there’s always black spots in peoples homes hence the reason why I have my firestick and other iptv devices on ethanet

Am a bit confused , I used to get an m3u url and a url for epg , back in the day. Now I get my providers ( i assume its the DNS Baz is referring to ) , a "http: ending in .xyz" and a username and password. My provider/s will only use this format ( which btw is why I have had to stop using kodi ) , hey say it's the most secure.

that is XC login mate, username, password, portal(url).
