Follow the links in post 2 of this thread here

That will get you up and running, you then have various options
if you want to run a box in the bedroom.

But you are best posting another thread asking how to do it.
People use different ways so you will get better feedback

So i guess i am good with my current standard dish ? Think i had better buy the box first but seriously what channels can i expect ?

Yes your old dish will work fine.

It depends on the server, but generally
everything except the stuff like movies you
specifically have to order. Is that called box office ?

Yeah box office but never watched movies anyway my main concern is sport and preferably in hd also regards recording is a skybox able to do this with the help of an external hdd ? Also my dish has a quad lnb if i decided to keep the basic package through sky to one of the rooms could i connect an f3 or f5 to the other room.

HD sports and movies are why I moved from cable,
they are great !

You have a few options,

Do as you suggested and keep a basic package.
and run another cable from the LNB

Get another box and run two boxes off one line.
Some servers allow that.

My mate just runs a cable with an RF modulator
from the living room to the bed room, he has a different
box but can't see why it wouldn't work with an F3 or F5.

Or there are Digi Senders, haven't used one but believe they
work. Not that much cheaper than another box, so I ended up with two boxes.

Yes, just attach a USB HDD and you can record.

Bees thank you for all your replys i will order my box and try set up from the tutorial link you sent no doubt i will be back

As a general rule I would advise people
to buy the box and line seperatly.

There have been quite a few posts
where people have gone for the easy
option and bought a box and 12 month "Gift"

They didn't get there 12 months or found the server
glitchy and ended up buying a line anyway.

I am not saying they are all like this but
testing a few lines and going on 1,3, or 6 month renewals
limits your risk of a bad service.

A line should take minutes to put in your box.

You can't name servers in an open forum
but people can PM you details if you post a request here
