So my 6-year-old pestering me for a Nintendo switch now I'm so out of touch with gaming consoles and looking on marketplace and other used items sites they seem flooded with them so which one should i avoid and which one should i aim to buy any help be great

I think there are 3 versions:

- Nintendo Switch lite = around £200
- Nintendo Switch (New & Improved Battery) = around £250. The Mario Kart 8 bundle for boys is popular and for girls, probably the Animal Crossing bundle.
- Nintendo Switch OLED = around £300

All depends on your budget and depending on when you buy (online retail) - you can use a combination of retailer offers and discount codes.

You also need to factor in the cost of any extra games, accessories and if they want to play online with their friend(s) - the online membership (NSO) which is around £13 for 12 months.

I've not heard or experienced any concerns related to the above models.

Just to add to the above, only the switch and switch oled will allow you to game on tv or monitor, the lite doesn't allow it. The oled version has a much improved screen for portable gaming, although it won't make a difference once you connect it to a screen.
