Opel/Vauxall Astra 2007 CDTI

Hi i have a Opel/Vauxall Astra 2007 CDTI diesel 3door
The problem is when i lock the steering wheel when turning the car i lose my main head lights and the radio momentarily.
Like a wire is been pinched. I checked fuses and they seem to be fine.
Doesn't matter which way i turn, left or right and happens when parking or reversing (sudden movement of steering wheel)
Anybody any expierience of this? Any help appreciated

Dropped car into Opel garage, apparently the problem is with the CIM unit located behind the steering column.
€300+ to replace!! Think i'll leave it

hi mate check this out dont know if you can get any where with it but lots of astras had a cim clap recall which was just a metal clip that stops it from flexing as you turn the wheel ??
