Open box v8s

Hi all. I am looking for some help. I have connected an openbox v8s to a samsung ks9000 tv and it has no sound. I have checked the hdmi lead and tried it in all of the hdmi sockets mute is not on I have changes every audio setting I can find on the box and on the tv I have connected the box to an older samsung tv and the sound works I have also tried another openbox and this is the same. The tv actually recognises the openbox make as the remote for the tv will control the box. The only thing that is different to the other things connected to the tv is that the connection states it is an hdmi/Dvi connection whilst everything else is just hdmi. Does anyone have any ideas before I resort to buying another make of box.
 
newbie here and apologies if this is being posted in the wrong location - I have an openbox V8s and also running a Sky + box just makes sense with the kids and a Mrs that can just about turn on the tv. The issue is have is 2 feeds coming from the sky dish I have split one into 2 using a spliter one goes into the sky box and the other into the open box.... Burt when the openbox is on the skybox wont record.... I would really appreciate if someone could shed some light on this please. thanks

You need both aerials in the sky+ box to record mate, that's why there's 2 aerials as ones for recording, best connecting another aerial to the dish for your openbox.

Hi Nemhard I have tried all configurations of the audio both on the box and on the tv but still no joy
 
This will be a chore but have you checked every single channel on the open box

making sure the volume is up on the openbox remote.

The reason i ask is i managed to install a new tp.prog from somewhere i forget and lost sound on some

channels. If youve got Watch instead of W on your guide its out of date and you need the latest tp.prog

found in network upgrade.
 
Hi yes checked most chanels the thing is it works no bother on another tv I have also pluged in a zgemma and this works fine
 
I'm just wondering if the one connect box is the issue. As you state the box works on another tv. Might be a power issue perhaps?

definately disconnect everything other than open box and use slot 3 on one connect and perhaps try a different hdmi cable.

im also inclined to think the tv remote recognising the box may be an issue. Any way of preventing that happening.

as you can get a picture why don't you go to network update and download the updates applicable to your box, can't hurt.

Finally sorted all that it took was a soft reset of the tv with everything disconnected and then add everything back one by one and that sořed it.

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help me please.

I'm trying to upgrade by network to either update my firmware or my channel list as I'm missing some channels and seller has told me I must do this.

My problem is, is that when I select upgrade by network, it comes up with HTTP protocol and I select start them get download failed? It never use to do this and it would usually just bring up the options to update automatically!

Any help would be very much appreciated as once I'm again I'm at a loss with this and have no idea, and I kind of need/want my sport channels (especially Sky Sports News)

Also I don't have a USB to do a channel update that way so ideally I'm looking for a way to solve this via the box?
