Openbox V8 3G dongal usage?

Hi my mother lives on a caravan site and has no internet access, the v8 supports 3G dongals as I'm aware? So if I buy her a 3G dongal and plug that into a v8 would that work?

Also how much data would a v8 use a month? will a 1gb usage last a month??

Any help on this would be a big help.

I am not sure a bout v8s support dongals but i think if it support it then this great if not here you are any easy way but you will need pc or laptop
you can share connection from them to the box , for data if you will use lines for satellite then you will not need much bandwidth 100 mb/month will be great even you run line 24/24 on the box
for iptv i think it will not be enough 1 gb/month

it should work with the box, it advertises use with 3g dongle but i have never used it. Like it says about you can share a wifi signal from your laptop and connect that was if needs be
 
glade i can come to some help now. yes on the v8s i have done a test to see how much the 3g would use as i have a caravan and a box in there. i done the test at home and i done over 400 hours on skysports on a 1gb data. but be careful as the box only does a few dongles. the hauwei e173 and the 1750 work as i have tryed both of these dongles.

Hi, I have a hauwei e173 dongle but unsure what to put in the setup page on the network settings for this to connect. Apn, dial number, username and password. My provider is with ee
 
I have just set up a openbox v8 on a tpt link TL-MR3020 wireless router and Huawei E5830 modem - 1554leslie (I think?) worked it all out !! I did have my zgemma h2s set up on it aswell earlier, but because I wont be accessing the internet via iptv, downloading movies etc. I switched to the openbox and it works fine. I didn't have to alter any settings when switching receivers, so rather than buy one specific one for the openbox, consider using the tp link set up. one advantage is that I am also able to connect my laptop to the setup at the same time as the box is running - in fact I am on it now while the footy is at half time !

I reckon other set ups using different router/modem will also work if you have anything knocking around, I would try them !!

PS - I am watching and accessing on a campsite in FRANCE !!!
 
Can anyone help trying to get Asda sim card to connect with 3g dongle e173 on my openbox. I have been told it uses ee settings have put in USERNAME eesecure PASSWORD secure APN everywere DIAL NUMBER *99# but wont connect any help would be appreciated many thanks
 
Anyone help with the setup via the unlocked huwaei e173 dongle? I have installed with three.co.uk apn and *99# dial number, left username/password blank but saying connect failed. I have inserted a 1gb three sim. Any support would be appreciated
