Openbox V8s not picking up Satellites signal

NMLTV

Newbie
Have a problem , trying to add hotbird and others to my receiver , picks 28.2 sky up 80% quality . The 80cm dish locks onto other satellites but the receiver isn’t responding signal strength & quality Zero.
Any ideas ?? Openbox V8s. Was hoping to

I tried two different lnb’s and two different size dishes. And both picked up sky 28.2 easy, my satellite meter picked up the other satellites but no response from receiver ? It’s as if the boxes doesn't recognise them!
can a Satelite list be updated by usb or anything? Thanks for the reply keep suggestions coming

If its just a beepy meter its a waste of time tbh.
Have you set the motor up properly to dead south,?

Not using a meter just a Diseq switch 2 satellite inputs one out. Ahh I’ve never found it difficult picking up other satellites before , I’m convinced the receiver hasn’t got the right setup . Hotbird and Astra 19.2 aren’t hard to pick up. I changed the power lead as I read about that too but no good !

You just said your sat meter picked up a signal,!
Is your motor set to dead south,?

Just noticed, you have a diseqc switch, how does that work with a motor,?

Sorry pal I don’t have a motor setup , just the diseq switch . Two dishes combine the signals and down the wall with one cable.
just can’t understand why the receiver isn’t showing any positive signal for any satellite other than 28.2e (Sky uk) .

Haven’t even taking it out of the packet yet .
lnb brand new dish 80cm , no response on the tv screen for hotbird signal . Thanks
For the suggestion

Hi, having same issue 80cm dish pointing to hotbird and have 2 satellite receivers a tivusat that picked up rai quality 80%, the openbox v8s does not pick up anything but I do notice that there are no transponders mentioned in the hotbird setup on the openbox as if they have been deleted somehow. astra 28.5 is all there setup and works fine. so what have I done wrong is there some sort of manual setup as I was under the impression the openbox was a fta receiver, in satellite search all satellites mentioned only astra/sky seems to have the setup. Ive attached pictures hope someone can shed some light on this,
PS The tivusat is my dads helped him set up the new HD channels on my old 80cm dish for testing purposes hes now using it on his 100cm dish, sold my zgemma ages ago and found my old openbox v8s that been in storage decided to see if I can set it up on my 80cm pointing to hotbird, thank you.

Thank you for replying tried it by adding in TP list and scaned but came back no signal. Ive attached some more pictures as I found on instalaltion antenna its blank could that be the problem am I supposed to add something in longitude and latitude.
I do have signal as I just connected a cheap eaglebox HD800 receiver forgot my daughter had she no longer use and as you can see the signal is very good.

OMG what an idiot I am the problem was staring right at me and I didn't even notice it, I had a 5v android power supply plugged in instead of the correct 12v power supply. There wasn't enough juice running to the lnb hence why no signal, thank you for taking the time to help and re directing me to a similar issue, I honestly wouldve never thought of that, good job. Signal is now back.
