Oscam freezing problems

Hi there. VU+ Solo 2 with Mipsel CPU running OpenVix 5.2.034. I am using softcam: oscam-latest (1.20+svn11532-r0) and the oscam info menu says the protocol is cccam_mcs.

I had been using softcam Cccam 2.3.0 and everything run really smooth. As I could not watch certain package in Astra 19.2, I contacted my server and he said I needed oscam to watch it. I have used all the oscam versions available in my plug in list but they all freeze far more than my previous Cccam 2.3.0. The freezing is not constant but it's annoying as if I want to record something it may ruin the recording.

Does anyone know why I am experiencing freezing with oscam where I never use to suffer it with Cccam 2.3.0? Thank you.
 
Why not just use oscam for the Astra package and use cccam for the remainder?
Not an ideal solution but at least the bulk of the channels would be ok.
It just means changing the softcam to oscam when you wish to view one of the Astra channels and leave cccam running othetwise
 
I have found that if something is slightly out with your oscam config/server files then it can make a world of difference.
 
Latest VIX is 5.3.023. 5.2.034 is well outdated

Hi pabloscaban. Thank you for your response. That's what I am doing at the moment but it really annoys me having to change the softcam that often if the problem can be resolved.

I am using oscam-emu (1.20+git1830) with newcamd protocol and seamless triple combined servers so no freezing. PM me for more tech info.

I have flahed new image 5.3.023 (Release) and the problem remains the same.

I have accessed the folder etc, tuxbox, config via Filezilla and I have seen that the same file oscam.config stars:

So, these two different oscam.config files look so different that I don't know if I have to overwrite the one that you have given me with the one that I have. Also, do I keep your file as it is or do I remove the first two lines? Thank you mate.
 
Just make a backup of the original so that you can copy it back if necessary.
It can't hurt to try it as it is.
 
By the way, the only softcams available in the install plugins menu are (on top of the one I am using oscam-latest (1.20+svn11532-r0):

oscam-emu (1.20+svn11532-r797)

oscam-pcscd-latest (1.20+svn11532-r0)

I have changed your oscam.config file for the one I had in etc/tuxbox/config folder and system is still clearing picture. I will report back regarding the freezing. I would say though that first impression channel swapping is a bit more slow. It takes a bit longer for the picture to appear after changing channels.
 
I have been watching TV and the freezing continues. On top of that channel zapping takes a bit longer. The server has sent me new oscam.config file.... I will trty that one too and see what happens. Thanks guys.

On Zgemma H5 running OpenATV 6.4 with WooshBuild Infinity I have installed these two Softcams:
oscam-emu (1.20+git1830)
oscam-smod (1.20+git2180)
with this oscam.conf file:
Oscam freezing problems
All working great with Euro satellites 13.0E, 19.2E, 23.5E.

Hi,
I have the same, one out of 3 servers is freezing, yet, at least according to the log, oscam finds the key.
The only difference I see is that the bad one is oscam protocol cccam_mcs
It depends what channel is the satbox is on of course.

You may be watching different channels, using different servers, that probably would work all good on mine or at spiderman01
