Oscam help

Hi I'm just wondering what exactly this is? Can I run an N Line and a C Line in this?

So would I benefit from switching from mgcamd to oscam if I have a decent line I use most the time and an OK one that I had issues with downtime every now and then?

From googling it chooses the best server... So if it misses a response does it grab one from the other server on advance so as to avoid freezing? I'm still quite new to all this only ever set up zgemma with wooshbuild as it is. Starting to get more interested in different boxes and how they work etc...

That's it, I have 3 servers in my Oscam setup, some will argue that 1 really good server is all you need but in my opinion even the best servers have bad days. Probably 2 severs would be ideal.
You can see what server is being called in the web interface live stats if you are interested.

Bang on Bangord30 lol

I'm a bit of a techie so I like that sad stuff

It's also in my interest to keep glitching to a minimum, there are no reasoning with my family when the kids channels don't work as they should.

I'm definitely interested in in sorting this out on mine as I've got a line I'm not even using with over half a year left on it.

Just need to read up I guess. One is a C Line and one an N and I guess they need converting?

Did you know you can use both C and N line together using MGcamd?

I didn't actually! So would it be worth me switching to OScam or should I just add my Cline to mgcamd?

OK I'm clueless on setting up OScam. I think I've downloaded it on my box and I know how to switch to it... But how do I take my line or lines and get them working in it?

I thought if you added more than one line in mgcamd it picked the best one and switched to it? Or does oscam have them running simultaneously

I think the difference is that Oscam doesn't wait for one line to glitch before switching like mgcmd. It monitors both lines and switches back and forth between them depending on which one is performing best at that time. That way it should stay ahead of any problems, reducing any glitching to a bare minimum.
