pc too slow

have had this pc for years now maybe 12 years n its soooo slow
wish could get a new one but skint
is there any way i can get rid off all viruses n shit thats slowing it down or is it just too old n need to replace

12 year old pc is going to be slow (a cheap box from ebuyer..maybe £150..google: Zoostorm desktop pc... would be miles ahead of what you are using now), even without viruses and other crap clogging that's slowing it down.

But you could restore it to "as new" by just reinstalling your operating system, guessing it's XP?. That will also get rid of any crap viruses.

But that will erase ALL content, documents, videos, music and photos etc...so make sure you have them backed up to disc/flash drive/dropbox or wherever.

Another alternative is to run a completely free operating system like Ubuntu or Zorin...there are many other free linux out there. I myself use Zorin on a 10 year old pc and it flies!

You could try installing Malwarebytes anti-malware to try and make your machine stable again. In my opinion it won't be worth it, and a re-install of the OS will be your best bet.

in this day and age it shocks me to see no protection used for pcs and laptops,there are free programmes even crap cleaner cleans out stuff.

first off,what are we looking at here?post comp specs and operating system. what antivirus are you using? what do you do for disk cleaner and other housekeeping tools?

Probably well past it's sell by date to be honest but you'll defiantly notice a good boost by just reformatting it as other people have said.

Seems like an old PC for 12 years old. Have you tried reinstalling windows?
