Please help me - Openbox V5s Newbee

Ok - so I have an Openbox V5s

Plugged it in, switched it on, attached it to my router - now what do I do?

Been reading stuff about clines firmware etc I have no idea what this all means and the long and short of it is that all the Sky channels have '$' by them which I guess means scrambled, as nothing happens when I click on them!
I can get all the Freeview channels ok but nothing Sky.

Please can someone walk a 49 year old female technophobe through this in very simple stages - like 'press a then press b' as I don't know what I'm doing :-(

Follow reapers guide here: http://www.techkings.org/attachment...p-openbox-v8s-hd-first-time-dummies-guide.rar download 7zip from here: http://www.7-zip.org/ to open the rar file as this program is free to use if you don't already have an extraction program installed on your PC.

Also if you would like the channels numbered in the same order as $ky then get cwaites channel list from here: Sattv5's Sky Channel List updated by CWaite (Instruction on how to install it are on the website and in reapers guide) very easy to do, don't panic.

You will also need a line supplier which you can request from here: http://www.techkings.org/general-sa...-satellite-cccam-pay-server-request-only.html

Ask for a test line before handing over any money, all good line suppliers will give you atleast 24hrs free test. Once you have the test line info then follow reapers guide to get the $ky channels unscrambled, use the test line and make sure its a good working line, no glitch or freezing and if your happy then discuss payment with the supplier. If your not happy then decline the supplier and ask someone else for a test line, do this until your happy with the line and then make payment. Also explain to the supplier you have a Openbox V5 so need the file to load onto the box, they should provide you with a preset file which will contain your line account details, then you can follow reapers guide to install it and get the channels unscrambled

Have a look through the tread Tich linked to, it should answer some questions too.
The box you have is very simple to set up so stick with it, we are here to help, and you'll be enjoying it soon enough :)

The good folks here were of immense help to me when I took my first tentative baby steps along this road. The guides linked to in the above posts should explain everything the newbies need to get up and running. You'll be surprised how easy it all is once you get going. There's always someone around here to help keep all things going as smooth as possible.
