Please recommend a LNB for Sky/Freesat etc

I've been having some pixelation issues and have finally replaced dish and LNB. The LNB I bought was an Inverto "Black Ultra" twin - unfortunately it seems to be faulty as I'm unable to get a decent signal from horizontally polarised transponders. After much fiddling and aligning the dish, I gave up and replaced the Inverto with the one that was on my old (and very rusty) Sky mini-dish. Bingo, both H+V polarised signals give me c90pc signal and c85-pc SNR. Note - this varies from receiver to reciever as I have two but its a good indication that all is now well.

I suppose I could carry on with the Sky LNB but if I did want to get a replacement for the Inverto, what would you guys recommend?

I've asked the supplier for a replacement or a refund on the faulty Inverto. PS the dish is a 65cm Gibertini and I'm in South Devon.

Thanks all

Thank you.

My supplier is sending me a replacement Inverto next week, so should be OK. Unlucky that the LNB was faulty I guess.

I've seen the reviews of the Technomate LNB, it rates very well by the look of it.

Hello
Hi
I got a old mini sky dish which i attached a inverto LJ black quad lnb to over 10 years ago as it had good reviews. Now i get some asian channels like star plus glitching. Could this be due to a bad or weathered lnb? Can you advise what is the best quad lnb for sky uk? Would it be genuine sky one or a different make?
Shall i just get another inverto?
Thanks

Could the glitching be caused by
Your server Have you checked in signal finder the s.n.r Transponder 11656V 22000 5/6

Yes its starts glitching when s.n.r drops below 75% in signal finder.
A.g.c is at 95% what does this mean?
S.n.r 12.6db.
Is that the caused by my server guy and not the lnb?

With in the downloadable plugins
System plugins
diseqctester download and preform a test
This will check all the v and h side of the
Ttansponder

Done

For checking signal, you need to check signal quality on the frequency that the service is broadcasting on as well as the tuner you were using when issue arose.

Sky dishes are eliptical, you should get an LNB designed for them.

It onky happens on asian channel star + frequency Transponder 11656V 22000 5/6.
Tuner A which is the sat tuner.
What's this mean in lamen terms?
Current lnb is inverto black quad.

Sky dishes are eliptical, you should get an LNB designed for them.

Can i fix this issue or is it server side
log to rule out time outs
Bad ecm times?

My post is solely to do with signal. Nothing to do with softcams. What are you asking to be phrased in laymen's terms?

You should get an eliptical LNB for an eliptical dish. Bing the difference.

What this mean for us comman folk
You should get an eliptical LNB for an eliptical dish.

As mentioned above when snr fall below 75% . It starts to glitch only on that frequency. Can you help as to might be causing it?

I made two statements, to which are you seeking clarification?

LNB:
Sky dishes are eliptical, you should get an LNB designed for them.
If you have an eliptical dish, get an LNB designed for an eliptical dish
If you have a round dish, get an LNB designed for a round dish.
If you have a Sky dish, get an LNB designed for a Sky dish.

I very much doubt inverto make LNBs for sky dishes

Just like:
If you have a diesel car, you put diesel in.
If you have a petrol car, you put petrol in.

Bing the difference between eliptical and round LNBs.

Checking signal:
For checking signal, you need to check signal quality on the frequency that the service is broadcasting on as well as the tuner you were using when issue arose.

If your wipers are not working, why would you check the indicators?

Go to signal finder and check the frequency that the service is on.
Menu > Setup > (Service searching/Reception/Tuners & Scanning) > Signal finder
Select the tuner you want to test and the frequency you want to test.

If you do not have poor signal or other reception problems on the frequency, then there is no need to change LNB or dish.

I got the small oval sky dish, and trust me i got a inverto lnb on which has worked fine for last 10 years. All other sat channels clear.
Snr percentage on all other channels is 85% plus and the agc is 95%.
On this frequency it like 78% or a lot lower.
Plus the problem isn't constant just intermittent. Sometimes its fine but then other times unwatchable.
Where do you get these words from, why not just say round dish or mini sky dish?
Just like if you had a automatic driving licence why would you buy manual
No more just likes pls

Photo of dish + photo of lnb will help to solve many mysteries.

On another note while driving car i put indicators on to wipe screen.

I only drive petrol cars and never remember which side is fuel cap.

2 different versions but on opposite sides :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Bad weather crap happens.

Forgot dishes come in different shapes and sizes and now lnbs are different, nothing in life is simple.
