Possible to revert to old Sky box Navigation?

Hi Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I've had an H2S's for some time now and by-in-large I get on with it great. However, Id prefer it massively if I could have the in channel navigation the way the the sky boxes of say 5-10 years ago worked. What I mean by this is that when you were on a channel and pressed the up or down button, it would show a little preview of the channels above and below but you would remain on the chanel you were watching. Not untill you pressed okay, would you be tken to the selected channel. Additionally you could bring up more info by pressing the info button too. I know for most people they will be used to the new set-up but I prefer the old way of doing it so much more.

I'd be amazed if it's not something that could be set up and I have tried to go through the options to no avail. Any advice folks?
 
The mini EPG guide shows what's in channels either side, so I don't get the need to actually see it when you know what's on anyway, but each to their own.

And, on my zgemma I DO get more info, if I press OK twice.

As dsayers says though, zgemma has no PIP, although I THINK the new one with H265 hardware decoding mentions PIP deep in the specs somewhere?
 
I implemented what u mean a few months back by means of a mod of the slyk-1-hd and slyk-q skins as i too preferred that way of navigating the channels.

This is the original way we see channel selection by pressing up/down

Hi sorry crashing into this post but just wondering how do you make picon bigger on the slyq infobar?

Are u using sly-q or slyk-q? As im using slyk-q and just modified the size of the picon space and picon itself in the q-infobar.xml file to the following code

The H.2S and H.2H mentioned pip aswell but didn't support it so maybe the same for the H5 models

Something similar, but i never really liked the layout of the multi/single epg style built in. I wanted what OP wanted and have it look like sly where u just press up/down and infobar looks exactly same as it does by just pressing ok to see it.
 
Thanks gmanpanthro im using slyk q any reason why im not getting epg on infobar when i press ok while watching something epg is fully loaded it looks like some sort of bug
Or where could i find the file for this

I'm not sure if kiddac managed to fully integrate the second infobar as it was still early days of the skin
 
Thanks Gman, right on the money as to what I was after. Ive never done any custom skining before, any pointers as to a tutorial to get the workaround?

Hi gman.
I have been looking at this but kiddac has done a number of updates to slykhd, will this not break something in the skin? Presuming this mod is a couple of months old!
Also when I try to add to root of device it says I cant add share to root directory.

Sorry its meant to go into usr directory not root my mistake.

It shouldnt break anything, but best to backup ur slyk-1-hd folder from usr/share/enigma2 just incase.
