problems with zgemma S2 on older tv`s

anyone had issues using zgemmas with older tvs? ive tried using it on my dads and sisters tv which are older tvs, and had problems ranging from not working at all, to getting audio and no picture and then the opposite on another tv and then some just have the colours all messed up.

auto resolution is disabled, just wondered if anyone had encountered it and knew what setting is needed for older tvs? using sucnsee open ATV image

just been connecting via HDMI, i assumed it was a settings issue. do you think connecting via the rca cable would solve it? guess i thought i was limited as there is no scart output on the zgemma. is this a common issue? thanks for the help
 
i always use rca cables connected to the box but use a scart to rca adaptor if the tv is running on a existing scart lead yet to fail this way
