Question about Skybox f5s quality (scrambling)

Hi,

I have had a Skybox f5s for about 18 months now and it has been great. In April I had to buy a new gift I bought on off Ebay and things were fine. But the last few weeks some channels have been scrambling at a crazy rate. The worst one is Cartoon Network it can scramble every minute and it is driving my son nuts lol. Anyway I emailed the guy I bought the gift from and he had this to say.

"hi. yes sly have been running tests and so have some isps. same for all servers im afraid mate at the mo. we have applied several fixes. should be a lot better but until they stop or we have a perm fix its one of the downsides.

also try rebooting box and router"








Anyway is this actually true or is the guy giving me the run around? Is there a way that I can fix this and stop Cartoon Network scrambling all the time?

It is true that a lot of ISP updated their systems about 3 weeks ago and a lot of servers had freezing issues where you couldn't watch anything,however most of them were back to normal within a few days.I had my box on cartoon network for the last 15 mins testing it for you and not a glitch or freeze.You might want to ask for a test line on the forum to see if that makes a difference.Is it just cartoon network or other channels as well?
 
Hi Jason I have a skybox f5 as well as Zgemma ,when channels freeze or scramble a lot I use to delete all channels then reinstall them.Someone I know told me to do this as transponder move regularly,I did this and it worked every time for me,don't know how true t is about transponder
 
The transponder for Cartoon network has;nt moved.I am running an old F5.Besides I dont think that would cause freezing issues.If you want to update your channel list,heres the link.The F5 is an old box so the firmware with upgrade by network option is not available to download.You will have to do it with a usb stick.
