A few days ago a friend came to me with a sony vaio laptop, less than a year old.His daughter had cracked the lcd screen and the damage was not under warranty.A local Computer repair shop gave a quote of 225.00 Euros for the job, as you will agree, this was a bit pricey. I agreed to have a look at it to save money, While i tend to fix a lot of computers most are PC`s or software related problems, But i will always have a go with someones elses machine!
Anyway after finding a good step by step guide on the web and the replacment screen on E-Bay, I was good to go.
It took me ALL of 7 Minutes from start to finish, and is now working perfectly.
Total cost of Parts (P&P) = 91.40 Euros making a savings of 133.60 Euros
and total hang time for the laptop less than 5 days.

Laptop LCD Removal Instructions The following instructions will help

Every little helps as the saying goes.:)

i do this for a livin m8 and its not that hard agreed but not everybody will want or be able to attempt it

some people just dont feel confident enough doing it

so thx for the info etc

but i would advise if you have any doubt visit your local repairer and get it done professionally
