RTL8812AU chipset WIFI adapter

Hi, bought a wifi adapter off Ebay which is rtl8812au chipset but it shows as rtl8812bu when going into network. The adapter will scan for wifi networks but even after updating settings it will not connect..
I uninstalled all other drivers , rebooted but still shows a rtl8812bu.

I have another adapter which is the rtl8812bu schipset and it works fine on same settings...any idea why this new one won't?

Its a few years old, does the job, bought 2 when i was able to years ago. 2nd usb adapter was for one upstairs which was used for freesat..thought i'd try updating it a bit.
Can't afford a new one right now, sadly not working...will grab a better box when i can. thanks again

If just using it for Freesat or Freeview you don't need an internet connection.
EPG comes via aerial or dish
 
I was going to use e2iplayer on it so bought an adapter for wifi. its ok ill return it and get a refund abd get ine like i already have, Thank you all

On your Remote press GREEN, GREEN Download Plugins, Drivers and try these:
network-usb-rtl8192cu (1.0-r0)
network-usb-rtl8822bu (1.0-r0)
network-usb-rtl8814au (1.0-r0)

H, couldn't find the rtl8814au driver, but downloaded the other two from plugins and it's still showing as 88x2bu when i go check the apter but the weird thing is it now shows when selecting "Show wireless netwrok status" as green (with bitrate etc showing with ssid etc), but when I go back one step the link is not green anymore!! Tried checking connection by pinging ip address assogned to box but comes back destination unreachable.....so it was worth a try but no luck.
