looking at purchasing new box, that will alow me to record multiple channels at one time 6 or 7 channels via sat dish.

Recomendation much appreciated

You need a box with FBC tuners (Only Vu+ and Gigablue afaik) and a unicable lnb.

Cheapest way to do it is:

VU+ Uno 4K SE 1x DVB-S2X FBC (8 demodulators) (£228.00)

GT-Sat GT-dLNB1DY SCR/dCSS Single Cable Unicable II LNB SCR24 (£39.00)

Both of these are available from an online store that specialises equipment.

Yes the Gigablue would do it, might actually be cheaper, thinking about it

Would you know if it as good as the vu+ or is the vu a better box

I've got 3 Vu+ boxes and they're good but I don't think they justify how much more they cost.
The Gigablue is a great box.

Thank you for all your advise it's been much appreciated and a great help for me going forward. One last question do you now if the sky q hybrid lnb would work for what I'm trying g to achieve.

If willo has helped please like his posts the sly q lnb won't work with zgemma edison or any other boxes as different to what these boxes use you need the sly hd+ lnbs

You can get a Sky Q hybrid lnb that will allow you to run Sky Q and standard E2 tuners but you will not be able to record 8 things at once like with FBC tuners.
You can also get a unicable lnb with legacy tuners that will allow you to run Sky+ HD and freesat boxes but won't work on Sky Q.
