Screen keeps flashing various colours - HELP

Hi, can anyone help ? my screen keeps flashing various colours and the keys dont respond, then after a few minutes it comes back on ok.
I have just installed norten internet security and it found a virus called pdtwzd.exe and deleted it but now the screen still flashes ???? driving me nuts. ps I have a aspire 8735g laptop. :boo:
 
Ive read that the paticular pdtwzd.exe is related to fingerprint technology found on acers?
If your particular laptop has this fingerprint security feature you could try uninstalling 'Acer Bio-Protection fingerprint solution' to see if that helps.

To be very sure though run malwarebytes to double check everything, sounds quite strange alright!
 
Thanks for the info, my laptop does have fingerprint security, I will try your advice and let you know - appreciate hep.
 
If it already has it its quiet possible it has been corrupted so definitly run a full scan after uninstalling it.
It should be safe to reinstall after any infection has been cleared.
Get it from acers website for your particular model and windows version
 
It's possible it could be a loose cable between the motherboard and the screen.
If you are comfortable taking the back off the screen, I would do that and check the cable.
