Seriously confused

Hi guys I am seriously stumped so hopefully can get some help.
Today I had a mate who is a sly engineer fit a new lnb and multi room upstairs.
We are running an official sly box downstairs and a Zgemma upstairs.
When the Zgemma is turned on upstairs we cannot watch any recorded programmes on the sly box downstairs without it freezing non stop.

When I turn the Zgemma off at the mains it works again without freezing.
Watching live TV in the official sly box even with the Zgemma on is fine.

How is this even possible?

Thanks

are both boxs running seperate off the dish i.e feed direct from lnb on each, or are u looping from the 1 downstairs to upstairs?

Right I know that sly are replacing lnbs when there out doing service. I was talking to an engineer the other day and he was saying that sly are trialling lnbs that can handle way more information being send down the line. It seems strange to me but I guess anythings possible.

Your problem ???

Are you using a quad lnb
Are you using single feeds from dish to box.
Are you using a combiner
If so remove it and get single feeds to your box.
Also make sure lnb settings are correct on your sly box.

If none of the above works try switching the boxes around and try them. See what happens let us know cheers.

These are the signal readings from the sly box, I assume that it is all okay.20170125_235009.jpg

Hi mate the lnb he fitted has 4 feeds coming out of it where the previous one had just the 2. Each of the boxes has 2 cables going into them. What settings on the sly box would I be looking for and how would I change them?
Thanks

From the sounds of it I think one of your feeds is split somewhere on the run. I had this problem in a bar in Dublin once we could only get one feed from the dish to the box and we put a splitter in so they could change from one box to another on Saturdays for the 3pm kick offs. Then if for any reason one of the barmen turned on the other box it would freeze like crazy. This was a few years ago mind you. Eventually he bit the bullit and rewired the whole place.

i agree, theres no way they are getting direct power from the lnb, impossible or you woud not be getting the prob, 1 box is drawing all your signal when on

Foundad where the lnb settings are. Do you think I would need to change the default values as I have gone from 2 to 4 feeds?

So I need a different lnb as my zgemma is drawing too much power? If so mate can you point me to the type I would need?

I don't understand why it is only recordings that are screwing up and not live channels.

you need an old lnb i think you have had a new 1 installed, most engineers have to install them now, as the old 1 are redundent, so they dont even carry them on the van sky dont make nomore go on maplin

Ok here's my lnb settings on sly

No 1 lnb standard
No 1 low band 9.750
No 3 high band 10.600
Lnb power on
22kz on
Single feed off

What's the difference between the old and new mate? And would that effect recordings and live TV be okay?
