Set stb memory error

Hi all, joined the site today as I desperately need help with my dead openbox v8s. After updating the July channel list my box just got stuck on load so after doing a bit of research I got hold of the upgrade file for my box and an rs232 to usb lead but every time I try to upgrade the program says Stb memory error and wont go any further. Any help appreciated, thanks.

With V8s reflashing i had to pick port 7, make sure bootloader is ticked when u hit next power up the box

I'll give that a try tonight, bootloader is checked.

All 3 of my usb slots only work on comms port 3, can the port be changed in settings?

Finally I've got the box up and running, forget the serial to usb cable and grab a £2 serial to serial off ebay and do the eprom upgrade on an old desktop running xp and it works first time. However all i have now if a freeview box, did AJ's Latest channel list and all went well but all GIFT channels are scrambled and it wont take the firmware update (just say's file mismatch) so beware of 2 year free gifts. Bought the box off AJ by the way.
