sf8008 hard drive problems

When use usb stick or a powered usb Hard drive box works fine,soon as plug in usb powered hard drive (usb 2.0 for all )it sets up ok ,in morning box is froze have to power off and on again ,done this with 3 different usb powered drives,did notice in settings that power down drive set to 5 min ,wonder if that could be the problem with usb powered drives,as every other drive works fine on the box,and did check mounted and formatted to the box etc.

I gave up on passport hdds when usb and any i use are powered externally ones.
I would ask are these for recordings and formatted on box or just using to play stuff on.
All usb or hdd for recordings need to be setup and ext4 to be good.
Others have added a powered usb hub which seems to work.

Spin down after 5 mins is normal setting

Set up correct ,just don`t seem to like usb powered hard drives
