Skybox f3 stuck on l090

Hi folks thanks for letting me join. I used to do a bit of this stuff a few years back but seem to of lost my touch and hope you can help
i have a skybox f3
stuck in a loop l090 it makes it to. I've hooked it up using null modem cable .. And got the loader and a file that is suppose to work ...got it to load but it still in the same loop ....now I have no idea if it's a clone or not , how do I tell ?
Any advice greatly appreciated
 
Had the same problem on an f5s turned out to be a clone.there is a f3 clone software in downloads on the forum try that pablo123456
 
Cheers guys .. Not sure I can download anything yet ( not enough posts ) it's driving me nuts lol .. No tv for the kids...quick question if read set it back to factory default ? How do you do that when you can't get anything on the screen ?cheers
 
I've tried every file going mate won't go past l090 I think it's toast ...

Right could be something could be nothing..... I've took the top off ( as you do after a few ales over Xmas ) and there seems to be some caps with the tops blown slightly on the power board ? So I'm guessing they are the problem ......
 
Worth a try replacing them reminds me of the (Star view )days only a few Bob from maplins make sure you get correct values of the original caps pablo123456
 
A new openbox is pretty cheap to buy so might be worth looking at if you cant upgrade the firmware,The F3 is very old now and not really any updates available
 
As it looks toast ....what's the best box at the minute to buy ? I have sat and cable lines .....I've heard of zgemma ?.. Are they good ?. And can I use my present nline on it ?....or is there some other box ? Cheers guys
 
Depends on what buget you have really,A lot of support on here for the zgemma but you can get a lot better spec box if you pay a little more
