Skybox f5s usb issues ---- Help please

Right. I have owned a Skybox F5S for a number of years and it has, until recently, worked absolutely fine.

The problem is that I am unable to attach a USB stick or external hard drive for adding a new channel list or recording programs etc.. When attaching either of these they are not detected by the Skybox and when removing them I get the message "Disk A Disconnected" but then they have become corrupted and unusable.

I was thinking that maybe the integral software has now become corrupt and therefore intended doing a firmware update using a null modem cable, but before I do so, thought I'd ask if anyone else as had any similar issues and can advise further?

mine almost the same

Hi, My v5s is doing almost the same. USB is recognised but epgxml downloads and when writing to usb stick it corrupts the usb stick and makes it unreadable in windows. Have to use stick manufacturers recovery tool to get it to work again.
My box had a corrupted firmware and i reflashed using null modem and everything was working fine. Not sure but i think when i upgraded to the network update software this is when the problem started. Will go back to origional firmware without network and try again.
Regards
Brian
