Sleep mode on firestick

Hi all
I have the firestick which keeps going to sleep after about 20 mins or so,
Ive turned screensaver off no joy,ive looked in settings for the sleep mode (no option to turn it off)
googled it and some say use red eye awake etc....BUT here is the problem I cant get it onto the stick ive tried downloader and Firefox cant get google play or play store....
im just not that clued up on this

HELP PLEASE
 
I haven't tried it myself, but the following procedure looks more promising to me than running an unsupported Google Play app. Nevertheless it might still go wrong, and you might lose everything you have loaded on the stick.
