Sly to offer full TV package over broadband.

Maybe they have now understood that just putting up prices to cover the overpriced packages, becuase they pay so much for the sport has reached their limit of acceptance!

I'm guessing this system will be like the one I was viewing while in France during the euros. The box had a orange card in it connected to the router via wifi in the property no dishes or cable. Perfect viewing with no lag

But then they will need to supply the hardware for that and it will cost them more than trying to get those without a dish using it.

But will be intersting to see which way they go.

The service will be distinct from its cheaper and more limited Now TV streaming brand.

In other words - It will be over priced

Natural progression?

More high speed broadband coverage
IPTV Sly boxes (streaming HD or UHD) paired up cards and boxes or possibly paired with your IP/MAC address
SD and satellite switched off

Sounds about right don't fox do this type of thing already in austraila guess we should of expected it after the full takeover

Bit of a waste of money on the satellite though? don't they cost close to the GDP of a small nation? lol

Price in the uk is well overpriced, Here in Germany i get offered full hd package for 25 euros a month for 2 years, and when you quit 23 month later as its going to rise to 45 euro you can virtually guarantee they offer you the same deal.

Sly have always been wanting to do this, as two years ago they swap satellites because it was coming to the end of its life.
That's why Southern France and Spain now can't get Sly with the ordinary dishes anymore and the sat they switched to is getting too old soon. So this will be the only way in years to come

And I bet you get more football for your money than we do.... see if the prices were like that more people would be happy to stay with sky, it's just like going the footy tho over here it's overpriced and the normal man on the street is priced out whereas in Germany the clubs actually appreciate the fans and don't treat them like customers

People show Sly that online content in HD is doable, so they start doing it, my theory is in 5-10years time, all 3pm kick offs will be viewable legit and you just pay 3pound a match. Because, as we know, if you can beat them, joint them!

3pm kick offs aren't showed live in the U.K. because it's against U.K. Law, nothing to do with Sky themselves.

I think Google are looking at something in the next tv deal to have exclusive streaming rights

Yes it is against UK law but once Sly and bt start realising that its not worth what they are paying when it's available on 50plus foreign channels so the government won't be getting as much tax, then laws will change

You'll never get the 3pm Saturday games on legit TV in the UK.
It's to keep match attendances up. Clubs would be up in arms if they started losing thousands of spectators every week because they're at home watching on TV.
For sly, vermin or BT to manage to get 3pm games in the UK the money they offer the clubs would have to make the latest tv deal look like loose change,

One of the smallest revenues for clubs now is attendances and because of who owns big clubs now, they wouldnt care if the stadium was empty as the TV rights are soo lucrative to them, money men love money.

The government has to do something about 3pms as I only see it's appeal grounding by the month on foreign streams

If fans in top league boycott. Tv company's won't pay as much for the TV rights or the TV company's would make the clubs do something about it down the whole unrivalled atmosphere dream they sell to the far east.... plus lower league teams would die if it wasn't for the other family and attendance revenue
