hi guys

i got a line and put it in my mates box. i checked it and it was working fine. he took it home and said there was a little bit of glitching. also that the 3641 menu was appearing but it did not connect to the server. i spoke to the line provider who said it could be a slow net connection as that would be the reason for the server connection to time out. i asked my mate to bring it back round. when i hooked it up at mine it all worked fine. (porn and everything) and there was less to no glitching.

thing is i am with sly for internet and a speed test showed download speed of 14 meg. i told my mate to do a speed test. his was 34 meg and his supplier is virmin.

so

if his internet is faster, why is he glitching and unable to get the porn and i am? i am using a home plug and he is connected direct to modem

any ideas???

Have a look at the splitter being used, some say using a VM hub causes problems although never seen that myself, you maybe posting in the wrong thread the menu 9991 is for the Blade 7000

Ping time is more important than download speed.Should be less than 100ms but mine worked with times less than 150ms( on a 2 line setup).Make sure he has a cat 5 cable to the modem.

People get ping all wrong
The ping is nothing to do with ping download tests for card servers.
The ping is about the ping to their servers
Avg good ping in the uk should be below 40 (I get 8)
When I ping my card server I get 75ms

What ping you need to know is this
What ms is the card working at?
Let's say it's 100. So it's 100 leaving the server to the person so that's 180
If is a local server to vps
Then it's 100-vps-75-person -75 so that's 250. It's stated sky uk starts to glitch at 250 and 350ms is getting unwatchable

Sounds like a cabling issue, check all your F connectors.
Ethernet cables etc.
