sony vaio ultrabook

my ultrabook lappy has just started making
this croaking noise, its coming from
the bottom right hand side
its never done it before, any ideas what it could be,
seems to do it every 6 secs, sometimes one croak then croak croak,
gonna shut it it down and go on my
tower as i dont like the sound of this,
it was fine last night.........:eyes:

ps
just shut down the three pages i had open, and noise stopped, still stopped while i edit this,
strange...........

hey eileen dont suppose you could post a recording?might be the hard drive from your description tho.how old is the machine?i would run a diagnostic on it right away so as not to lose any of your data.here are a couple of utilities for this.if you can post the maker of your hdd we may be able to recommend something more specific to your make.
