As title says im having problems abm fails when using splitter but if I remove splitter abm finds all channels and fta channels work glitch free .. it's strange because with splitter fitted my modem works fine but again abm fails I have also kept splitter in and swaped box and modem cables and abm fails but again modem works .. Need help before I buy a need splitter and new cables

I'm very confused I got new splitter and didn't work any better than old so I plugged in original vm box it done some sort of update/check before the channels would work I then plugged back in the vu+ and everything is working again... anyone any info on this ? Did the box communicate with vm and signal coming into house changed ? I dunno really but im glad it's fixed for Xmas tv

The problem doesn't seem to be fixed had a strong signal of 95% before all these problems now I'm getting a signal of 5% on hd channels which are working glitch free but sd channels im getting 0% and they are unwatchable
..would a booster really help or signal to low?

Have you double checked the cable that you are using with the splitter? You may have a short or bad termination on the cable(s) that is/are being used.

check the power levels in the router?
on the bottom of the router is a 'settings password' write it down.
open a browser window on laptop and type 192.168.0.1, click enter
use that pasword to login to the router.
click Advanced settings on the left, then tools>network status
this opens a new page, click Downstream tab at the top and it'll show all the data in a list
copy and paste it here

I only have the 2 cables supplied by vm if I insert the wire without any splitter I get signal of 36/40 on the fta channels with splitter I get 6/8 on fta .4/5 on hd and 0 on sd. I was having problems with my hub3 a few months ago as it kept resetting it turned out that my connector at vm box was damaged that fixed all my problems and my signal was close to 100 then recently vm has been in area and been digging up road for new connections down road and my signal is like this now

power levels are all fine so it's not that, get a few decent cables from ebay like the ones i linked earlier, if you have a new Labgear splitter, it can only be the cables

Thanks was hoping it was vm problem so they would fix it but will have to grab them cables . Any reason the same cable works fine in the vm sub box but has low signal on vu+ box ?

no idea, but you said earlier it worked, then didn't then it worked ok so I think at least one of the cables is either cracked or frayed and with you swapping and changing, the VU box is getting the bad connection sometimes

Yea was thinking the sub box can deal with a low signal better than the vu+.. when I get the wire I will update the post and let know.. Thanks for the help btw
