SSDNow V series 40GB Boot Drive upgrade kit: Unveiled by Kingston

Back in August we first mentioned the SSDNow V+ line from Kingston, now Kingston have unveiled their new SSDNow V series 40GB Boot Drive upgrade kit.

The kit itself consists of a few components, obviously the kit includes a 40GB SSD, other components include bracket which allows the 2.5 inch drive to be mounted in your PC’s standard 3.5 inch drive bay, also the kit includes SATA data and power cables, finally the kit includes software which allows you to clone your current hard drive to the new SSD.

The drive itself boasts write speeds of 40MB/s and read speeds of 170MB/s, Kingston believe that the best way to use this drive is to use this as your OS drive along with a larger standard drive for data storage.

The retail kit will set you back $115, however Newegg will be offering the kit for $84.99 (taking into account rebates), the kit will launch on November 9th, find out more on SlashGear.
