staview 7 quick couple of questions

Hi all,

i have just moved into a flat where a communal sky dish is fitted. A friend with cable has got a starview 7 box which he used to c/s , he has told me that he thinks this is possible with a sattelite dish.

so i just wondered if anybody could advise on the following,

can i use a starview 7 box with c/s on a satellite which has been installed to supply flats with a "certain companies" tv channels? the dish is communal and fixed so wont be a motorised dish or anything special so will it still work?what channels would i receive?

i am particularly interested in trying to get nova sports etc

am i right in thinking i can buy a s7 box flash it plug it into my router and away i go, or is there more to it than that?

i have read through various posts but dont seem to be able to find specific answers to my queries so if anybody could help i would really appreciate it.

Thanks

starview 7 will only work if you have a virmin cable connection....from what i can figure out, your flats only have a fixed sky dish..therefore only sky channels...you can use a sat linux box, on a c/s to get all channels providing to connect it to your wireless router(like cable)....problem is finding someone that will c/s with you...if this is what you want...let me know, and il put you in the right direction..regards
