Suitable for Hotbird/nc+?

I have access to that type of thing. And it works. But I also have a prepaid card from an nc+ box that, frankly, I'd rather use until it expires. Just wondering why the card reader would work in an Openbox but not in the Zgemma. Is there a plugin or extension I need to download/activate for that card slot?

Still struggling to get something approaching a channel list. What I want, I guess, is to just have the 100-odd Polish channels on my Zgemma. Nothing else. No Sky Italia. No porn. No German. No German porn (!). Just basically nc+ and Polsat, with channel numbers allocated by me. Is that possible? I know there's a web interface that could help make it easier?

Thanks, as always, for your advice on this thread. Much appreciated.

yes,
your channel list is possible,
you will probably have to manually edit some of it though,
as for a lot of the stuff you dont want, I'm sure there is a method of hiding selected bouquets, etc, you could then pack all the channels you want to view into a [or several] favourites bouquets,
sorry i dont have much time to have a check round for you just now, I'm watching World Superbikes on Eurosport HD

as for your card, there is probably a setting you have to enable somewhere, I had a quick look on mine last night and saw something relating to activating the CA slot,,, perhaps ?

Okay. Can we rewind a bit - what is a bouquet? Is it a predetermined bunch of channels? And who predetermines it? I only ask because the one for nc+ appears to be pretty incomplete, and there isn't one at all for Polsat.

yes,
it is exactly that, and yes'
they are often incomplete, and perhaps even missing for eurosats, they are probably made mainly for the UK
do you have the required Polsat channels in the all channels list.?
you can add your own 'FAVOURITES' bouquet to the list and simply move all your required channels into that

Cool, thanks. And presumably once I have everything in my own bouquet, I can exclude all other bouquets so only mine shows - and give them individual channel numbers within it. Is it possible to back up bouquets for sharing with others (or in case of a bad firmware update etc.)?

Thanks again to you all for your help.

Kind regards,

yes,
exactly,
once you put everything in your own bouquest you can [ I think ] hide all the other bouquets, or whatever ones you dont want,

btw, Ive been watching a bit of N+ sports today , :)
[note to self] must learn Polish, lol

:) I'm surprised more people desperate for Saturday-afternoon kick-offs don't go the Hotbird route. It all still works, and there are several sports channels that cover pretty much every match. Champions League, too. It's easy enough to turn down the volume and put on the radio instead (if the commentary actually bothers you - it doesn't worry me).

Hope the Superbikes were good. Pleased to see Jonathan Rea bagging another title, I have to say.

Does everyone here run a Sky-esque skin on their Zgemma, or are there alternatives (apart from the default skin)?

I'm going to play around with creating my own Bouquet from the channel list. And we'll take it from there.

Thanks again,

Jonathan Rea is actually from the town near where I grew up, I know some of his family, but not the man himself, and, I dont know them that well, just in passing, :)

I just have the basic skin, but it appears most people run a sky-like skin, there are a few others out there, but Ive never really looked at any of them tbh,
there is an italysat [name right ? ] skin that looks quite nice that I might give a try sometime.
ye, when I went multisat I couldnt believe the amount of channels that were available, its great, and, not that much more trouble or expense tbh if you just want say 19 or 13, or even all 3 , 28 19 13 ,
I actually spent too much on mine, but as it was all new to me I had no idea what I was doing, so ended up paying slightly over the odds for some stuff, and buying stuff I didnt really need.

ah, you will also find on most of the commentary,
select AUDIO
if you select the alternative , often labeled as 'qaa' , it will remove the commentary and leave the stadium noise, :)

btw @discmeister
can you get you missus on the phone to me to translate the speedway on NCsport+

I'm from Norn Iron originally myself. So I'm always pleased to see him doing well.

Okay, the web interface is really quite powerful so I now have deleted most of the bouquets and created my own bouquet, called 'Polish TV', by adding channels directly from the 'All channels' list. I can play around with the order and numbers quite easily. Is there a way of defaulting to that bouquet all the time?

Next up, the EPG...

sort of,
you can put that bouquet as the first one in your list,
then in one of the options in epg [I think] it will give you the option of show bouquets on launch, select yes,
and it will be the first one for you to select.
I dont get much chance to play with my E2 box,
I'm currently relegated to using the openbox in the shed/workshop/cave, lol
currently got BSB on eurosport2 :)

I bought an Openbox and was really impressed with it for £20-odd (think you helped me in another thread with a channel list). But its EPG is a pig to use and its recording facility (important to us, because we want kids' shows that we can playback with as few ads as possible) is flaky.

Any tips on CrossEPG?

I'll tell you this: channel lists (bouquets) are a dang sight easier to do on the ZGemma than the Openbox. Used the web interface earlier and put together a 60-channel list in about 20 minutes. You can even see the edits happening in real-time on the TV screen as you do them on the laptop.

Currently watching World Rallycross on Polsat Sport Extra HD. Really impressed with the H2.S so far. First timer recording lined up...

its worlds apart,
I had an F5 [old V8 type] box for years until I bought an edision [like a zgemma]
having a proper EPG makes life so much better, :)

Particularly useful to be able to adjust how much either side of the programme is recorded. Our experience from the official nc+ box (which also had PVR capability) was that they're way out on timings normally. As much as 5=8 minutes either side.

if you are into any form of sport,
I'll give you a month and you'll want another LNB on your dish for 19e , lol
yes, these Enigma 2 boxes have a lot of adjustments available

Oh, I like watching sport on the box. But with a four-year-old, I have to make do with the occasional live footy match. And to be honest, the Polish package will suffice on that score for quite a while yet, I expect.

First recording appears to have worked. Now to find out how to play it. ;)

thats why I have an old openbox in the shed,
wife and kids can watch what they want in the house, I can watch bike racing in peace in the shed, lol

All going fine so far - but the interface on the default media player is a bit tricky. It keeps adding files to a playlist instead of just ruddy playing them.

Is there a better media player option?
