SuperSpeed USB 3.0 in new desktop video camera

Point Grey have just announced that the “world’s first” SuperSpeed USB-enabled digital video camera will be unveiled at the upcoming Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in San Francisco.

As reported from TG Daily, the IDF event will take place this week, starting tomorrow and lasting until Thursday. Features of the new camera include a 3 megapixel Sony IMX036 CMOS image sensor and HD 1080p60 mode - which will churn out 60FPS images. Impressed arn’t you?

The camera will be connected to the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface card, allowing for high-speed data transfers. Basically, think USB 2.0, but way faster.

We’ll be reporting further on the new device following the IDF event this week. Head to TD Daily for more details. Let us know your thoughts on the camera.
