Hi Guys. Been ripped off on new tomtom lifetime map updates. They no longer support my version. What im wondering is if I can hack it and download a newer version of maps, even if its not the latest version from somewhere. Anyone come across anything?

There is a website I use called gpspower
They cover many topics

I got a update for a merc sat nav, easy enough done
Good guides on the site

In short, no.
In long, Siilver is right - find the right site for you - most of these maps can be found free, if you care to search.
I used to be a member of a few, search by brand, forum. You are bound to go d what you need free.

i searched your nav on the site and most threads are from 2011
so im guessing its getting on in years

so its silly for tomtom to say "lifetime" mapping

It's not silly - it's a marketing ploy.
They advertise them with lifetime updates and people buy them thinking it will be the only satnav they will ever need, except a few years later, the model isn't supported any longer and you need to buy a new one to continue with your 'free' lifetime updates

Then if they no longer support the device, they should give you a discount on a new model

Marketing w@nk

discount is about 30 quid off a £250 quid satnav. new one I think but may go garmin as a protest vote.
