Turned off Tiviar Set box

Hi,
My Dad got a tiviar set box installed a couple of weeks ago and was told at the time of installation that it can not be turned off from the power socket. Unfortunately, he turned off last night and now today it’s not displaying anything on the tv screen even though we have selected the right HDMI source. The box itself is displaying “RUN ALPHA +”
I would be grateful for any advice.

That is a bummer. I have 2 of these boxes and even if it was switched off at wall it should do a full reboot. Try this, turn off with remote. then there is a rocker switch at back, turn that on and off and wait. If alpha appears press power on remote etc. There is footie on now so cant say much more. And dont press any buttons while it is starting up.

The receivers are computers in essence. Switching them off at the mains without putting in deep standby first can cause issues.

You might have to flash image again.
