In Operation Infra-Red, the public is being asked to help bring the runaways to justice.

Each is the subject of a red notice alert, Interpol's highest wanted status.

The suspects face allegations of murder, rape, child sex abuse, slave trading, fraud and theft.

They include Christopher Guest More, 32, who is suspected of a murder in Cheshire seven years ago. He may be in Spain.

Daren Elarmo, 40, is wanted for grooming and sexually abusing teenage boys in the United States. Police believe he is also in Spain.

Irishman John Griffin, 43, is thought to have murdered a young woman in Galway, before setting fire to her caravan.

He fled to Germany five years ago, but could be anywhere.

Operation Infra-Red was launched at Interpol's HQ in Lyon, France, in May, when police from around the world met and identified 450 fugitives.

Since then they have caught or located around a quarter of them, but need help finding the 26 suspects who are proving the hardest to track down.

"They are all very serious cases and dangerous suspects," said Martin Cox, the assistant director of Interpol's Fugitive Investigative Support unit.

"You might spot them in the street or at your local golf club, but you are just as likely to meet them online, on Facebook or other social networking websites.

"If you see them or know where they are, please let us know."

Canadian Hell's Angel David 'The Wolf' Carrol is wanted for the murder of 13 rival motorbike gang members.

He fled his native Quebec nine years ago and has been spotted as far away as New Zealand.

Czech security guard Frantisek Prochazka, 35, disappeared in 2007 after 20 million euros were stolen from his company safe.

He has since travelled to Mexico and Florida, but could still be in Europe.

Former Bangladeshi Army captain Abdul Mazed, 60, has been on the run for murder for 35 years.

He was convicted of killing his country's former President and his family and other ex-ministers. Mazed is thought to be living in Pakistan or India.

James 'Whitey' Bulger, 80, is an American gang boss suspected of involvement in the murders of 19 victims.

He has been on the run since 1995 and was once spotted in Piccadilly, central London, and may still be in Europe.

He is thought to be with his long-term girlfriend Catherine Greig, 59, a former dental hygienist who has her teeth whitened regularly and has had plastic surgery, including breast implants.

Anyone who sees a suspect or knows their whereabouts is urged to email fugitive@interpol.int or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
