Police in Lancashire believe a serious sex offender may have travelled to the Republic after being sighted in different parts of Northern Ireland.
William John Paden has 19 sexual convictions
William John Paden has been missing since early June, when he disappeared from an agreed address in Blackpool.
The 56-year-old has 19 sexual convictions dating back to 1974, including rape and indecent assault on a child.
He is banned from associating with children unless they are accompanied by an adult.
Detective Superintendent Ian Critchley of Lancashire police said the Northern Ireland sightings were corroborated by other information.
