Upgrading to fibre and IPTV

Hello, Im currently running free sat and subscribed IPTV on an zgemma box. Im upgrading to Sly fibre to improve the service Im getting (Im now on Sly BB unlimited). My concern is that , apparently, Sly will be monitoring my line for the first 10 days or so after the upgrade to ensure everything is running OK. Is this anything to worry about or not?

They will already have a retention of your data logs anyway so personally I wouldn't worry about it.

PDW, when they say your line will be monitored what they mean is that D(ynamic) L(ine) M(anagement) will kick in. This ensures you get the perfect balance of speed and stability that your telephone line can handle.

Anyhow DLM on fibre is always managed by Openreach no matter who your provider is - your provider has absolutely no control over that.

Thanks a lot v8grunt, that is really helpful. Im not confident in setting up VPN at router level so I think, bearing in mind what youve said, I'll leave it all as it is.... its not broken.

good shout v8grunt, always a bit of confusion on this subject, streaming will never stop, they can monitor it all but theres always ways around as noted in post 2
