USB memory stick wiped.

The likelihood is that you have removed the drives and the box has allocated them a different mount point.

If you're running ATV:

MENU > INFO PANEL > PLUGINS > MOUNT MANAGER

Make sure your drive is mounted as /media/hdd and formatted as ext4 R/W

Windows on laptops & pc's can't see linux that the usb or hhd uses once been initialized on your box
You need to format them back to something windows can see

Yes was thinking they were getting removed, always leave plugged into box and setup to use.
There are other ways to view that content on pc and laptop if needed.

How can I do that when my laptop doesn’t show them in the drive section?

Use a free program, something like MiniTool Partition Wizard and format them that way. Windows wont show them as a drive, as they are not a recognised format, use a free tool like I have mentioned and they will show up.
