Hi all,I have a USB stick as my sole backup in my vu solo for EPG,picon etc.I have this issue that after I have used it in my solo and I need to plug it into my windows 10 laptop,that it either will not show or if it does I cannot format it,as I get a error message that its write protected? It was formatted previously to fat32 for the solo so I have no clue why the solo is write protecting the USB. Any ideas as its annoying for it not to able to even show up in windows 10 or format it.

USB was removed so my solo would boot without getting stuck with spinning vix and no picture. USB removed solo boots with channels back.Hence needs formatting again.
Cheers all if you could help out.
 
Not working either. Will not let me allocate it a letter for the drive to be recognised also. I know its not a faulty USB as I have had it happen before,but I think windows 10 is crap
 
how did you fix it last time?
try placing it back in the box once its booted then see if you can initialise it

Try go format tool on phone so can't find link

Already have HP format tool that's not working to format it to. It seems to be luck of the draw as to whether windows 10 shows it connected and also if HP format works. It went wrong when I deleted 2 folders off the USB when my laptop did show it (time shift/movies) then it would not format and after disconnecting from laptop will not recognise it now.
Will try the other format tool mentioned when I have the laptop back in front of me.

That's the thing when I put in back in box I get constant spinning vix and unable to do anything while the USB is in the solo.
 
Have you tried diskpart sorted mine out once but you will have to google it

Managed to do it on the solo by switching the box to standby then inserting the USB and turning on again. No slow vix spinning and booted fine,whereas I find if you put the solo into deep standby then boot with the USB stick in it gets the slow vix spinning and no response from remote etc.
So I initialised it and we are back to normal for now,just without picons as there is no feeds for the build I have stayed on due to this one being quite stable for me. Appolo 356 I think it is.
May ftp a set across,but forgot how to get them to show in the bouquet lists,only get them on channel change usually.

This is what I suggested was'nt it? let it boot then insert the usb and initialise.
Once in epg press menu and you should find an option in there to display picons with the service name

I had to remove the USB first to stop the vix spinning no response,by resetting the solo at the rear and then added the USB so I could initialise it properly once booted.
This solo I find is very temperamentle,any other images apart from vix that does not give crashes very often and let's you change settings without it having a hissy fit?

It was when first released the vu solo was, but apparently does not have the power to run all new features of the later vix images. Bit like a dated PC I guess.
